SB19 takes ownership of name, logo

After several months of uncertainty, SB19‘s new agency, 1Z Entertainment, officially announced that the group has successfully retained their name.

Earlier this year, the 5-member P-pop group parted ways with their former management company, ShowBT Entertainment Philippines, raising concerns about retaining their name due to copyright ownership.

This situation led to the cancellation of SB19’s Asian tour. For a time, the group also did not use their name and logo in promotional materials and events.

According to the official statement posted across 1Z Entertainment’s social media accounts, they reached an “amicable agreement” with SB19’s former agency “through a fair and equitable resolution”.

The letter was concise but hinted that the group was able to keep their name. 1Z also expressed that the members can’t wait to reunite with their fans and will be resuming their activities soon.

Formation of 1Z Entertainment

SB19 revealed that they’re self-managed during the release of their latest album “PAGTATAG” in June 2023. Since then, they’ve has taken on the responsibility of managing themselves and their activities.

They officially launched their agency, 1Z Entertainment, on 1 October 2023, revealing the group’s leader, Pablo, as its Chief Executive Officer. They launched their own company to enjoy greater creative freedom.

“We wanted to protect our beliefs and our goals because with 1Z we get to create something that’s really our own without any restrictions,” Pablo told Nextshark.
