Mackenyu is coming to Manila


Get ready, Filipino fans! Zoro is on his way! Mackenyu Arata, who plays Roronoa Zoro in Netflix’s “One Piece” live-action series, has announced his attendance at the Manila Pop Culture Convention (ManiPopCon) 2023.

The event will be held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City from 17th to 19th November. Keep reading to know how to get a chance to score tickets!

Mackenyu made the announcement through a video ManiPopCon shared on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

In it, the viral actor said, “To my Filipino fans out there, I’m happy to share that I’ll be appearing at ManiPopCon in Manila on November 17th to the 19th. See you guys there!”

Besides his latest role as Zoro, Mackenyu has also played roles in several other fantasy films, many of which are inspired by anime.

These include “Pacific Rim: Uprising” (2018), “Over Drive” (2018), “Tokyo Ghoul S” (2019), “Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter” (2021), and 2 “Fullmetal Alchemist” films in 2022.

Mackenyu is also the son of renowned Japanese actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba, which explains his top-tier stunt skills.
