Twins Jollibee and Mcdonald graduate senior high school
The COVID-19 pandemic has halted many trips and events that were meant to take place in the earlier half of 2020, but many other aspects of life has also proceeded on. School, for example, has continued for many students, with learning institutions and universities resorting to online arrangements to accommodate quarantine restrictions.
Many found it challenging, but we adapted, and during the quarantine period, we welcomed our batch of fresh graduates. Among them are twins, Jollibee and Mcdonald Pangindian, whose names were sure to have stood out would there have been a graduation ceremony.

After battling through online classes since March despite the pandemic, twins Jollibee and Mcdonald Pangindian finally graduated from senior high school from Theresian School of Cavite on 24th May 2020.
Family friend Mark Lester Andrei Cruzet posted a congratulatory post on Facebook, which quickly went viral because of the twins’ unique names.

In the post, Cruzet elaborated on the origins of the twins’ names, saying “napagdesisyonan ng kanyang asawa na Jollibee at Mcdonald ang ipangalan sa kambal para umano maging unique at madaling matandaan ng tao” which can be translated as “the husband decided to name the twins Jollibee and Mcdonald so that their names would be unique and easy to remember.”

We may be going through some tough times, but we are hopeful that a bright future awaits these two fresh graduates – as well as others who graduated along with them.
According to ABS-CBN, the twins are hoping to go to college at Cavite State University, under a program related to the frield they graduated from, which is information and communication technology.
Aside from that, they are also looking into getting part-time jobs at, you guessed it, Jollibee or McDonald’s.

While it’s important to keep ourselves up to date on current events, with the COVID-19 pandemic still ravaging other countries, we’re glad to see how these twins’ story made thousands of people smile, and gave them a reason to say “Bida ang saya (Promote happiness)”, and “Love ko ‘to (I love this)!”
