The Studio Dance Club
Trends come and go but there are iconic pop culture trends from decades ago that remain well-loved by generations young and old. For people who love all things retro such as vintage stores and newtro (new retro) items, The Studio Dance Club in Makati might be a place of interest.
The club holds Disco Fridays where you can dance to your heart’s content. Aside from disco, they also have other events for other retro dance genres. You can also grab some drinks if you’d like.

The Studio Dance Club hosts disco nights (P500, ~USD9.11/person consumable on food and drinks) on Fridays from 7pm to 2am. They have a dance instructor to lead the crowd so it’s not just a fun night out but also doubles as a dance lesson.
There’s a large dance studio mirror so you can follow along, but the place is dim-lit and has colorful, dancing disco lights to set the mood. So if you want to nail the dance moves, you’ll have to move forward closer to the dance instructor and the mirror.

If you’re going to The Studio Dance Club with a dance partner, try to visit on one of their ballroom or boogie schedules.
They have an afternoon ballroom from Mondays to Saturdays from 2pm to 7pm, and an evening ballroom from Mondays to Wednesdays from 7pm to 12am. For a more upbeat dance genre for pairs, they also hold boogie nights every Saturday from 7pm to 2am.
Each of these events costs P750 or ~USD13.67Â per person per night. This rate can be consumed for food and drinks in the club.
Reservations are encouraged

While the dance club allows walk-ins, these depend on availability so it’s best to make a reservation. You can also reserve a table for 4 people for P5,000 (~USD90.93), which can be consumed for food and drinks.
To secure a reservation, send The Studio Dance Club a message on Facebook or Instagram or shoot them a text at 0917 723 9355. They accept payments via GCash and online bank transfers.

The Studio Dance Club takes its dress code as seriously as dancing. Wearing slippers, shorts, sando (sleeveless undershirt), or jersey is not allowed. Surely, you’ll also want to dress up. The club’s events make great excuses to parade your best retro ‘fits.
You must also be fully vaccinated to be allowed inside the club so don’t forget to bring your vaccination card and a valid ID for proof.
