PITX-Baguio Trips Resume, Travelers Can Now Visit Baguio City Conveniently Again

PITX-Baguio trips resume on 19 July


Many travelers who don’t have their own cars haven’t been to the Summer Capital of the Philippines since the beginning of the pandemic. Good news for Metro Manila residents – Pangasinan Solid North Transit, Inc. is resuming its PITX-Baguio City trips and vice versa starting today, 19 July.

There will be 3 PITX-Baguio and 3 Baguio-PITX trips daily. The schedule can be found on the bus line’s Facebook page. Regular fare costs P576 (~USD11.43) while the discounted fare for students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities cost P461 (~USD9.15).

Individuals who are unvaccinated, on their first dose, or who’ve just had their second dose within 14 days need to present a negative antigen test. Meanwhile, fully vaccinated travelers will only need to pass triage checks such as swab tests upon arrival in the city.

Travelers must also make an account and fill up a form at the Baguio Visita website to get a QR code needed to enter the city via email. Application review can take up to 24 hours and you will only be allowed to enter Baguio City within 24 hours of receiving your code.

People who want to avoid physical contact can book their bus tickets online at www.biyaheroes.com. There, you will be asked to choose your departure date, return date, and seat to check if a spot is available.

On your departure date, you will need to present a printed copy of your ticket to the ticketing officer for stamping and signing. Passengers will be asked to stay at the waiting area until boarding, but they should arrive at least an hour before departure.

Walk-ins at PITX won’t be too much of a hassle either. Passengers need only to approach a ticketing officer to make a seat reservation. Then, the officer will print the ticket, affix a stamp to it, and sign it.

Like passengers who booked online, walk-in passengers also have to remain at the waiting area until boarding. They should also be at the terminal and make their reservation at least an hour before departure.

With Pangasinan Solid North Transit, Inc. resuming their PITX-Baguio trips, people can now get away from the heat of the metro and enjoy the cool Baguio climate. Just remember to complete all travel requirements and book your accommodations in advance to ensure a hassle-free vacation.
