Good news for tourists and OFWs traveling between the US and the Philippines! Travel just got a whole lot easier.
On 29th October, United Airlines began offering direct flights from the US to the Philippines and vice versa. This makes it the first US airline to have nonstop US-PH flights.
United’s maiden SFO-MNL flight arriving in NAIA on 30th October.

United Airlines’ direct flights follow the Manila-San Francisco route and will operate daily. The airline will use its largest aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER.
Before United, our flag carrier, Philippine Airlines, was the only airline that offered direct flights to and from San Francisco.

On top of its US-Ph nonstop flight, United Airlines is also enhancing its services to other Asian destinations. On 28th October, it introduced daily flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong and resumed daily services between Los Angeles and Narita, Japan.
In addition, United increased flight frequencies between San Francisco and Taipei to twice daily from October 29, catering to increased demand for travel between these locations.
Going between the US and the Philippines will now be a lot faster with United Airlines’ nonstop Manila-San Francisco flight. This is great news not only for OFWs but also for those whose families are based in the US.
Not only that but direct flights also mean there’s need to worry about catching your connecting flight.
