Many areas across the country are experiencing heavy rain today given the existence of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Jolina and Typhoon Kiko.

The STS’s name did not go unnoticed by actress Jolina Magdangal. Reacting to Instagram comments, the actress said that if things were only up to her, she wouldn’t want heavy rains or strong winds, but instead would be happy if butterflies were pouring down from the sky.

Posting a photo of ABS-CBN’s news update about the storm, Magdangal said on her Instagram post: “Kung ako ang masusunod, gusto ko umulan ng butterflies.” (If things were up to me, I would want butterflies to rain.)

Fellow celebrities such as Magdangal’s Magandang Buhay co-host Karla Estrada and Vice Ganda took notice of Magdangal’s post and also commented. Comedian Vice Ganda wished that the rain would also turn out cute like the actress: “Sana cute din and ulan!” Vice Ganda said. Estrada also happily remarked that she wishes the rain would turn out gentle like Magdangal.

“Sana mahinahon lang ‘yan tulad mo!” Estrada said.

The name Jolina has been in use by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) since 2001. Jolina is currently listed as a tropical cyclone name in the first of 4 sets, which has 25 names, that the weather bureau uses alternately every 4 years.

Magdangal made reference to butterfly clips, accessories she had popularized from the 90s to early 2000s, on her Instagram post. In May 2018, she also recalled wearing butterfly clips in another Instagram post.
