If you’ve been to Siargao, chances are you’ve visited or heard about Shaka Cafe, a famous restaurant, which is known for its colorful fruit and vegan delights, located in front of the island’s surfing spot Cloud 9.

They have expanded to various tourist spots across the Philippines – from Bohol’s Alona Beach to Moalboal, Cebu – but city-dwellers can now also experience the island vibe that this cafe has been known for by visiting their newly opened branch in Bonifacio Global City. Shake Cafe’s newest branch has just opened at the Burgos Circle in BGC, Taguig on 7th June.

Situated in the midst of buildings in BGC, the new brick-and-mortar branch has stayed true to the cafe’s rustic, minimalist visuals outside Manila through its laid-back interior accentuated by wooden materials and greenery.

The cafe is best known for its Instagrammable, fruity smoothie bowls, and if your palate is craving for something refreshingly sweet, try one of the bowls such as the Bom Dia (P300, ~USD6.16) composed of acai, banana, mango, pineapple, and mixed berries. You can also relish their burgers without worrying too much about your meat consumption because their burgers (starts at P350, ~USD7.19) are 100% vegan.

For beverages, you’ll be spoiled by a variety of drinks and flavors to choose from, as they also serve smoothies, kombucha, cocktails, teas, juices, and coffee.

If you are rushing for an appointment and can’t queue at the BGC branch, you can also order your meal online for pick-up. They are planning to set up an in-house delivery service for residents in BGC too.
