Sometimes all we need to destress is a little bit of retail therapy here and there. For fans of minimalist items that can bring about all the calmness that can take our stress away, visiting the biggest MUJI Philippines store, newly opened on 5th March, should be on your schedule soon.
While Japan’s MUJI havens such as the sprawling MUJI Hotel Ginza are world-famous by now, this store in Metro Manila is the closest thing we have to a minimalist’s pilgrimage spot.

Located at Shangri-La Plaza in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, the biggest MUJI branch in the Philippines houses up to 4,000 daily essential items – from everyday apparel to homeware to skincare and to stationery.
As anticipated, MUJI’s everyday, practical clothing comes in a wide range of designs available at their clothing section, where you can shop basic T-shirts and long sleeves in plain colors or stripes.
To keep your storage space clean and simple, check out the range of transparent plasticware products available at the branch. And if you need an upgrade for your bullet journaling habit, you’ll be excited with the variety of paper and pen products they have at their store.
From notebooks to ballpens to erasers, the stationery selection here is a budding artist’s dream.
Aside from the wide range of products, you’ll also get to experience additional services and space you can only get at the biggest branch – from free consultation services for your house, interior, wardrobe, and product needs with MUJI advisors, to an Open MUJI space, to a water refilling station.
For design aficionados, an Open MUJI space is also inside the branch. This is where MUJI presents design concepts you can take inspiration from, and sometimes, workshops on topics such as wooden box making and creating notebooks are even held inside.
Currently, the Open MUJI space at the branch displays storage ideas you can take note of when organizing your items at home.
When you’re thirsty from all the shopping, you can stop by the water-refilling station nearby the store’s cashier to refill your water bottle for free up to two times. Take a sip only when you’re done shopping though, because drinking inside the store’s premises is not allowed.
And when you don’t have a bottle with you, there are reusable MUJI Water Bottles (P160, ~USD3.29) that you can buy here.
With Filipinos being big stans of MUJI, it’s high time we get to experience a store as big as the branch at Shangri-La Plaza.
After all, this will feed house-proud decorators’ search for simple yet effective products that not only can make our lives easier, but that can also add a sense of calm to our homes.
