The constant rain in Metro Manila has us playing Lola Amour‘s latest song “Raining in Manila” on repeat. And since we couldn’t get it out of our heads, we had to recommend the catchy song to a friend or two, on top of sharing it on our IG stories.
Filipino ENGENEs – or fans of ENHYPEN – took recommending the song to the next level. They brought up the song to ENHYPEN’s Jay during a Weverse livestream, which led to several of the K-pop group’s members taking notice of the local bop.

Jake was all praise of the song during the live, saying, “Oh, I like this”, “It’s vibing”, and “It’s a good song.” Despite the song being mostly in Filipino, the Korean-Australian member seemed to have enjoyed it.
“I don’t know what it means but I like the melody,” Jake said.

As the song was playing during the live, another ENHYPEN member, Sunghoon, commented “Good song.”
The group’s leader, Jungwon, also replied to a fan’s Weverse post about “Raining in Manila”, saying that he’s currently listening to the song.

Lola Amour was performing at a gig in Mandaluyong and was surprised to learn about Jake playing their song. After the Weverse livestream feature, both the band and the song reached new heights.

“Raining in Manila” jumped from #5 to #1 on Spotify’s Top Songs Philippines chart. Lola Amour also debuted in the Top 10 Spotify PH Top Artists chart at #9 before moving to #1 a few days later.
Now, this may not be solely due to the attention that ENHYPEN and ENGENEs have brought “Raining in Manila”, but the song being played on a livestream watched by a global audience certainly helped.
“We tried to reply [to Jake on Weverse] but things move so fast [on the app] hahaha,” the band posted on Twitter.

In response, Lola Amour has posted several tweets thanking ENHYPEN and ENGENEs for all the attention they’ve been receiving. They’re so grateful that they even made an account on Weverse – an app primarily for K-pop fans – to personally thank ENHYPEN.
Filipino K-pop fans won again this weekend when ENGENEs made the worlds of K-pop and OPM collide. And with all the attention Lola Amour has been getting, we can’t wait to see what else the talented Filipino band has in store for us.
