With social media letting us know about new and highly recommended food places, good cafes and restaurants tend to be packed with customers. This makes it seem impossible to have a dining experience that feels uniquely yours without the hefty cost.
However, The Secret Shop Manila proves us wrong. It’s a secret restaurant with an apartment-like interior in Baclaran, Parañaque that gives you an exclusive dining experience without burning a hole through your wallet.

The Secret Shop Manila’s interior is like that of a typical Filipino apartment.
It’s small, with only 2 tables, and you can see the kitchen from the dining area. Kitchen utensils, appliances, and ingredients are on display, too, so you’ll feel as if you’re just eating at a friend’s house.
The restaurant’s set-up allows you to dine with no pretenses, which makes it a great place for family dinners, barkada hangouts, and first dates.

While the restaurant’s ambiance is casual and cozy, you’ll feel as if you’re having an exclusive dining experience with a private chef. Chef and owner Bryce Vestre prepares, cooks, and serves the food at the restaurant.
You get the whole place for yourself as the restaurant only allows one reservation at a time. The Secret Shop Manila doesn’t have fixed hours, so you can let the owner know when you want to dine at the restaurant.
With dishes starting at P200 (~USD3.40), you’ll get all of these unique experiences at an affordable price.

You can choose from a variety of mouth-watering dishes right when you make a reservation at the restaurant.
They serve big servings of dishes such as salted egg chicken (from P300, ~USD5.09), cheesy baked mussels (P450, ~USD7.64), and buttered garlic shrimp (P400, ~USD6.79) so you can enjoy these with friends. If you’re feeling fancy, get a juicy, T-bone steak for P700 (~USD11.89).

While it offers affordable food in a modest place, you’ll get to experience exclusive dining with a private chef.
