On 31st May, TVJ and the OG Dabarkads did a historic exit at TAPE, Inc. – causing a shuffle and change on Philippine noontime shows in just a month.
A new era on Philippine television started on 1st July 2023 and our noontime landscape has gotten more exciting since. If you’re curious about what and where to tune in, here’s a guide on Philippine noontime shows.

Since Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and the rest of the OG Dabarkads’ departure from TAPE Inc., Eat Bulaga has introduced a fresh set of hosts on 5th June 2023.
The longest-running noontime variety show in the Philippines has former Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno and Kapuso stars Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar, and the Legaspi twins, Mavy and Cassy, as some of its frontrunners.
Isko Moreno said in his interview with Boy Abunda that the revamped Eat Bulaga’s focus is not on the hosts but on the people.
It reflects in their new segments, such as G sa GEDLI, where they go around Metro Manila and find people who will share their stories while the hosts will be giving out cash to help them.

After Tito, Vic, and Joey’s official departure, It’s Showtime found themselves seeking a new home. It led to one of the biggest TV plot twists of the year: Showtime inked a partnership with GTV, GMA Network’s free-to-air subsidiary channel.
As a homegrown ABS-CBN noontime variety show, it got the madlang pipol shookt, confused, and excited. On the other hand, GMA’s Chairman and CEO, Felipe Gozon, declared during the contract signing that the “TV war is finally over.”
On 1st July 2023, It’s Showtime opened on GTV with a bang. The audience witnessed a rare sight of Kapamilya and Kapuso stars performing together. Vice Ganda also rode a helicopter from the ABS-CBN compound to GMA, as she sang in front of GMA’s building.
All of the It’s Showtime hosts and crew are part of the move. The madlang Kapamilya and madlang Kapuso will keep on enjoying their respective segments: Mini Miss U, Isip Bata, and Tawag ng Tanghalan.

Tito, Vic, and Joey AKA TVJ spearheaded the longest-running noontime variety show, Eat Bulaga, for almost 44 years. Even though it’s unfortunate that they had to go their separate ways from the producers of the show, loyal fans backed them up.
This big move disrupted the country’s noontime habit, but the legends found resolve in co-producing their show with TV5. They brought along the Legit Dabarkads, including Maine Mendoza and the comedy trio, JoWaPao.
On 1st July 2023, TVJ and the Legit Dabarkads unveiled their new name – E.A.T. Vic Sotto announced that they are waiting for their original name (Eat Bulaga) to come home but for now, it will be E.A.T.
It was a heartfelt opening, with TVJ shedding tears and the hosts singing Eat Bulaga’s theme song. They introduced a new segment called, Da Bar: Dabarkads Eatery, with every host auditioning with a singing and comedic performance.
On 3rd July, they introduced more entertaining segments, such as Vortas 5 and Babala! ‘Wag Kayong Ganun….
