Usually, many cafes in Tagaytay serve Western food like pasta, sandwiches, or burgers and rice meals to cater to Filipinos. So naturally, it’s refreshing if we find a place that serves Filipino food along with Filipino drinks as well such as authentic hot chocolate.
Head to Kuuma Kaakao Kaffe in Tagaytay that offers Filipino food, kakanin (rice cakes), hot chocolate made from Cagayan’s cacao, and al fresco dining with a Taal view.

As you walk in, you’ll immediately notice the complementary colors on the place. From the tables and seats to the walls, the dark and wood colors make the cafe look sleek and neat at the same time.
Even more so, the pop of colors from the plants, decorations, and sign on the wall are a pleasant contrast to the dark-toned furniture.

Since it can get cold in Tagaytay, you can dine indoors for a cozy, feel-at-home vibe while warming up with a hot drink.

On the other hand, feel free to dine at the al fresco dining area to embrace the natural cool breeze as you admire the view.
Aside from the dining space, whether you dine indoors or outdoors, rest assured that you’ll still see the scenic view of the entire island of Taal with the lake and volcano thanks to the wide glass windows.

Unlike usual cafes, Kuuma Kaakao serves up a selection of Filipino dishes from rice bowls to kakanin (rice cakes) as snacks. These include the Longganisa (P165, ~USD3.09) and Tapa with egg (P185, ~USD3.46) rice bowls to for a hefty meal.

If you want to try kakanin with a twist, go for the Flavored bibingka (starts at P50, ~USD0.93) such as Ube and Leche Flan. Or you can just opt for a classic bibinkga (starts at P45, ~USD0.84) topped with Cheese & Salted Egg or Macapuno. You can even try Puto bumbong (starts P65, ~USD1.21) for another popular kakanin option.
For chocoholics, enjoy the view and cool breeze with a warm bowl of Champorado with dilis (dried anchovies) (P95, ~USD1.77) or have some authentic Hot Chocolate (starts at P105, ~USD1.96) to go with your meal.
