Before he became popular as Ginoong Fidel in Maria Clara at Ibarra, David Licauco had started a food delivery business during the pandemic. In June 2022, he finally opened Sobra Cafe in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
Sobra Cafe serves international comfort dishes in big servings, living up to the word “sobra” which is “more” in Filipino. Tapa Sobra (P415, ~USD7.62), which is topped with pickled onions and fried garlic, and gooey Mac n’Cheese (P415, ~USD7.62) are some of their most popular menu items.

Besides the food, you’ll also appreciate the cafe’s modern tropical yet cozy interiors that will certainly invite you to eat. Plus, Licauco is often seen hanging out at the cafe when he’s not on a shoot, which is another great reason to visit.
If you live in northern Metro Manila and are too busy to drop by, you can also order Sobra Cafe’s food for pickup or delivery from their White Plains, Quezon City branch.

Angrydobo in Westgate, Alabang.

Yohan, Lucho, and Luna aren’t the only children of actors Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo. The restaurant Angrydobo is also the celebrity couple’s brainchild.
Angrydobo offers different ways to enjoy the classic Filipino soy sauce-based stew, adobo (from P185, ~USD3.40) – from classic pork belly to tofu. There’s even the unique Kaldedobo if you’re craving both adobo and kaldereta (tomato sauce-based stew).

Concha’s Garden Cafe at The Inn at Cliffhouse Tagaytay is a cozy family restaurant with a view of the Taal Volcano. It’s co-owned by the “Pambansang Bae”, actor Alden Richards.

The restaurant serves a wide variety of Filipino fare. If you like Tagaytay’s bulalo (beef shank soup), you might want to try their laoya (P700, ~USD12.85). It’s a sweet, bulalo-like dish that comes with a dip that perfectly balances the dish’s flavor.
Concha’s also has several other branches in Tagaytay, as well as one in Silang, Cavite, and one in Quezon City.

Matteo Guidicelli isn’t just a former kart racer-turned-actor. Being half-Italian, he and his family own restaurants serving authentic European cuisine. The Guidicellis opened their first Da Gianni restaurant in 2018.

They have an impressive variety of Italian recipes, including many iterations of pasta and brick-oven pizzas. Some of their highly recommended menu items are the Quatro Formaggi pizza (P590, ~USD10.83) and the Mushroom, Truffle, and Parmaham Pasta (P575, ~USD10.56).

Those craving Singaporean cuisine can go to one of the many Wang Fu restaurants owned by actor Richard Yap.
Wang Fu has a Chinese-Singaporean menu that includes salted egg fried chicken (P428, ~USD7.86), cereal prawn (P598, ~USD10.98), and sweet & sour pork (P388, ~USD7.13). They also have a variety of dim sum, including hakaw (shrimp dumplings).

Kondwi’s first-floor bar and second-floor art gallery.

The Poblacion bar Kondwi is among actor Marvin Agustin‘s many food businesses. He co-owns this place with several creatives, thus the artistic concept.
The bar has beautiful interiors with artful furniture, decor, and installations. The second floor is also an art space where they hold exhibits and performance art.

Kondwi isn’t all visuals either. They’re best known for their baked oysters, which cost P60 (~USD1.10) apiece. They also serve unique cocktails (from P350, ~USD6.43) with unique flavors such as Tom Yum (sour-spicy Thai soup) and Turon (sweet banana spring rolls).

District 8 in San Juan City is a gastropub co-owned by top comedian Vice Ganda and actor Daniel Padilla, among many others.
It has rustic interiors, inspired by traditional New York pubs, that’ll entice you to hang out with friends a little longer. They serve a great variety of drinks, from imported alcohol to the local cocktail mix Weng Weng (from P155, ~USD2.85).
