The MV Doulos Hope is known to be the biggest floating library and book fair in the world. After having been on hiatus since February 2012 – their last visit to the Philippines – it was relaunched last May 2023 in Singapore.
Now, the beloved floating book fair is back, bringing with it a shipload of books from around the globe.
The Doulos Hope is part of the GBA Ships fleet, a non-profit organization based in Germany. Since the ’70s, their vessels have visited over 1,600 ports in 160 countries and territories. More than 50 million book lovers have given the floating library a visit over the years.

Beyond the experience of going to a floating library and book fair, Doulos Hope offers a wide collection of literary pieces spanning various genres and languages. You get to dive deep into the world of literature and expand your horizons with enriching cross-cultural experiences.
As of this moment, the ship is docked at the Rivera North Wharf in Subic Bay until 3rd March 2024. If you’re not able to visit by then, you can still catch them at the following locations:
-San Fernando International Seaport in La Union from 7th-24th March
–Manila from 28th March to 13th April
–Batangas from 16th-28th April
