Most of us haven’t been able to fly out of the country for a quick vacation for nearly two years. If you miss your Southeast Asian tour – particularly your time in Thailand – or simply want to get a taste of Thai food, Doon in Makati City offers the perfect solution.
This restaurant serves Thai bentos so you can enjoy different recipes in a single meal. They can also deliver anywhere in the metro so you won’t have to worry about having to drive or commute to Makati.

Doon has six different Thai bento plate options ranging from P475-P500 (~USD9.49-USD9.99) which consist of three to four dishes.
Depending on which bento plate you order, you can get dishes such as beef pad thai (stir-fried rice noodles), pad prik chicken (dry, red chicken curry with green beans), Thai barbecue ribs, and yom som o (tart and spicy pomelo salad).
These come with either fragrant jasmine rice that is typically used in Thailand or with rice dishes that have other Asian influences, particularly the Indonesian java rice and Filipino bagoong rice.
Some of the bento plates also include the popular Thai dessert mango sticky rice.
For their Thai bento plates, Doon requires a minimum of two orders per transaction.

Doon also offers solo orders and platters their Thai dishes. Some of the food you can get are refreshing Thai spring rolls (P250,~USD5.00), sour-spicy tom yum soup (P375,~USD7.49), and pad see ew (P295-350, ~USD5.90-USD7.00) – savory stir-fried soy sauce noodles.
You’ll definitely love Doon if you’re a fan of curry. They have red, green, or yellow curry (P285-P350, ~USD5.70-USD7.00) with vegetables, pork, beef, chicken, fish, and seafood.
To cut these savory flavors, the Thai restaurant also serves desserts such as bua loy – glutinous rice balls in coconut milk similar to our ginataang bilo-bilo – and drinks such as Thai milk tea.

If you’re from Metro Manila, you can enjoy Doon’s Thai food without having to leave your home. Their impressive menu can be found on GrabFood and foodpanda.
In case your area is out of reach for these food delivery services, though, you can message the restaurant on Facebook or Instagram to order. Then you can drive to Makati to pick it up or have your food picked up by a third-party courier service such as Lalamove.
Doon also allows dine-in orders

It’s also not a problem if you want to go out to eat for a change. Doon’s Thai recipes are also available for dine-in.
The restaurant is conveniently located at the Paseo de Magallanes Commercial Center in Makati’s central business district. You can opt to dine at their al fresco area for a safer dining experience.
We surely miss traveling and trying out new food. Thankfully, you can get a taste of Thailand without the cost of flying out of the country with restaurants such as Doon.
And because they conveniently deliver anywhere in Metro Manila, you can enjoy Thai food in the comfort of your home even on your busiest WFH day.
