With everything that’s been going on, you definitely deserve a nice vacation away from the city in a quiet place surrounded by trees. To level up your vacation experience, you can go to Balai Tanay in Tanay, Rizal, a B&B and glamping spot that sits on 1 hectare of farmland.
In particular, you should book their 2-story jeepney camper – an old Filipino jeepney converted into accommodation. The body of the jeepney is the first-floor bedroom-slash-living area, while the second-floor bedroom is a wooden hut extension.

Balai Tanay’s jeepney camper can comfortably fit up to 4 people with 2 beds – one on each floor – which are a queen-sized bed and a double. For guests’ comfort, the camper is air-conditioned. Since it’s surrounded by nature, though, bringing mosquito repellent lotion is recommended.
While small, the camper is equipped with a sink and a mini-fridge. The bathroom is outdoors, just a few steps away from the living space, but it’s private.

You’ll also be able to enjoy your own private pool when you book the jeepney camper. For barbecue nights, Balai Tanay lets you use their campfire pit and even provides barbecue utensils and charcoal.
You are also allowed to bring your pets so they, too, can enjoy time away from the bustling city.

Adventure seekers and nature lovers will surely love the place for its proximity to natural attractions.
The 739-meter high Mount Daraitan is a short drive away from the B&B. You can hike the mountain to see a breathtaking view of the Sierra Madre mountains and then cool down at Tinipak River.

You can also visit Masungi Georeserve, a conservation area with lush greens and limestone rock formations within Rizal Province’s rainforests, which is a mere 45 minutes away. The place has 2 trails that feature rope courses and hammocks.
Some other places you can visit in Tanay are Daranak Falls, Batlag Falls, Kinabuan Falls, and Treasure Mountain where you can watch the sun rise over a sea of clouds.

If you’re not one to go out and explore, there is also another activity for you besides cooking barbecue and swimming in your private pool.
The place offers yoga classes for a complete healing retreat. Some of the yoga styles they teach are vinyasa, rocket, and gentle flow yoga.

If the jeepney camper is too small for your family or friend group, Balai Tanay has 2 more villas you can rent.
Alitaptap can accommodate a maximum of 14 people, perfect for reunions. There’s also the adorable three-story kubo (hut) tiny home that can house 6 to 8 people.

Balai Tanay’s jeepney camper can be booked through the Airbnb website. It is priced at P5,500 (~USD108.88) per night before cleaning and service fees.
However, do note that staycations are not allowed in Tanay during ECQ and MECQ so be sure to check the municipality’s official Facebook page in advance before you book your future stay.
