Family Helps Boy Take DIY Graduation Photo Studio Against White Curtain, Warms Netizens’ Hearts

Family creates DIY photo studio for a boy’s grad pic

Getting a photography studio to take photos of special life events can be expensive. A family from Iloilo City, however, proves that you sometimes don’t need to shell out tons of money to have your photo taken by a professional as you can even create a studio by yourself.

They helped their young son have his own graduation photo by hanging up a white curtain as a backdrop, setting up their DIY graduation photo studio.

J-raldene Key-dhen Maming, cousin of 11-year-old Adrian Franco, uploaded two photos on her Facebook account showing Franco’s sister and uncle holding up a white curtain. In front of it, Franco strikes a pose in school uniform for his father taking his photo using a smartphone.

The photos will be used for his graduation

Franco, a graduating Grade 6 student of Passi I Central School, will have to submit the photos as part of his school requirement, Maming told the Philippine Star. Franco’s family had to borrow the curtain from their neighbor as they do not have such a curtain.

“Pinsan ko po ’yang naka-uniform, kailangan niya po magpicture para makapasa ng picture with white background sa teacher niya. Hiniram lang po ng tatay niya ang kurtina sa kapit bahay nila. Kasi wala po silang puting kurtina. Naisipan po naming magpicture sa labas ng bahay kasi para mas malinaw ung kuha,” she said.

This can be translated as: “The one wearing a uniform is my cousin, he needs to take a picture so he can submit a picture with a white background to his teacher. His father only borrowed the curtain from their neighbor because they don’t have a white curtain. We thought of taking his photos outside their house to have clearer photos.”

The photo that the family took was edited, and the resulting official graduation photo had Franco’s cropped face placed alongside a blue cap and a blue academic gown.

Sometimes, DIY hacks can really do wonders!
